Progression of the zoo painting, upper left to lower right , where I left it tonight. And of course, the girls on their studio blanket. I added more colors, scratched in some marks, used some ink layer and drips, covered the places I didn’t like with more turquoise aqua paint, and will plan my next steps tomorrow. I like it a lot more with the layers. It sort of looks like you’re looking between vines or long tree branches, sort of like Mexico.

After our deep freeze last weekend, the temperatures have been climbing, until it was 50 degrees and sunny this morning by 10:00. I went out to the studio to finish varnishing the big painting with the red flowers, and to work on the blue one I started the other day. I just finished the last coat of varnish and it was warm enough to put the painting out…
