Series of three, finished
Wild and playful
We bombed Iran’s nuclear sites. No consulting with Congress, just an off the rails Orange Pendejo. I had my post ready to go and then I got a notification on my iPad that I couldn’t ignore. We will see if the other shoe drops. It might happen soon, or there might be a patient, carefully executed planning period before we pay the price. Best case scenario Iran is too weak to respond and their government crumbles. I think the Pendejo wants to use this to say we’re at war so he can cut even deeper into the Constitution and our rights, and act like he’s the big strong dictator.
I stopped at three. I have a fourth, fifth, and sixth one but I’m not happy with them and I will have to go back and finish them sometime in the future. I need to move on to my own work. I’m not thrilled with any of them, but I did play and make some interesting marks. They are all kind of wild. I will revisit the other boards in the series either later in the summer of maybe next fall.
Here is the new one I painted over with purple and then added darker marks. I have a long way to go on this but I think I know where I want to take it. For now I need to cover most of it with semi-opaque glaze and then come back in and re-paint things so it looks less busy, while keeping the spontaneity of my brushstrokes.
For some reason the florals keep happening. I’m not intentionally trying to do them, but wildflowers are on my mind right now.
The garden is doing well, we’ve been eating lettuce, radishes, strawberries, basil, and arugula. I’m hoping when I get home from Crested Butte I’ll notice a difference in the size of the plants.
Keith called me today, she has been sick but is getting better, a respiratory thing. I’m going to delay leaving for a day. I will make up for it on the other end of the week. I might get to camp with my friend Lori up on Kebler Pass Tuesday night, and then go to Keith’s on Wednesday.
Every day is another drama with the Pendejo. Can’t we just get rid of him already? Where the hell is Congress and why are they such cowards?

The finished paintings turned out well. The floral one you are working on has great potential. Don't worry that you're doing a lot of floral. Considering your love for wildflowers, it makes sense.
Onto the Pendejo. I am in a bad space since learning about the bombing in Iran. I'm devastated on so many levels, and I'm thinking of the movie Wag the Dog. The Pendejo was upset about his dismal parade and the No Kings rally, that he decided to bomb Iran and put us into war to distract the American people and the world at large.
I'm starting to believe that protests don't matter anymore. He's f*cked us up really badly, with no recovery in sight. It's been 5 months since he took office, and yet he has caused nothing but turmoil and torn our country apart.
And yes, Congress comprises mostly cowards. Everyone is a sycophant, kissing his ass. I am sick and tired of this crap. I am demoralized and feeling hopeless at this point.
