What Nick calls Throwaways. These are the canvases I keep around to throw extra paint on and see if they inspire any ideas. Sometimes they turn into good paintings that sell. The first one is a canvas I’ve played with for some time, it has great texture and markings, but I couldn’t get the colors right. Today I figured out the color it needed- a gradation of Prussian Blue. The other one has texture and light effects, and I keep adding blobs of paint when I get rid of my palette paper. It’s starting to do something I like.

This is week 3 of the workshop and I spent a good 7 hours in the studio between watching the lesson videos and preparing my gessoed boards and painting for fun and play.
